THE ARMED FORCES ART SOCIETY SEEKS A NEW TREASURER.
The Armed Forces Art Society ( www.afas.org.uk ), which traces its roots back to 1926, is the premier art society of the three services. With a membership of about 200 artists, we have exhibited annually in the prestigious Mall Galleries in London for several years and are held in high regard by the capital’s artistic community. Having recently been joined by an enthusiastic new sponsor, our proactive management team are now moving the society forward to other exciting London venues for our annual show. The Society’s finances are in good shape thanks to the sterling efforts of the current treasurer who, after several happy years, has decided to retire from the post. We now seek a new treasurer to carry on the good work. The task involves managing the finances of this very friendly group of artists; it includes annual membership subscriptions, gallery charges, sponsor payments, the sales income from the annual exhibition and, of course, the presentation of the accounts at the AGM. The treasurer currently receives an annual honorarium payment of £1500 and does not need to be an artist (except with figures).
Anyone interested in taking on this committee post with this friendly, successful and thriving society should contact John Ashton 01494 511076, 0771 362 4458, email@example.com for further information.
